Essential Care Partners in Algoma

What is an Essential Care Partner?

Essential Care Partners, often referred to as caregivers, play a critical role in providing unpaid physical, psychological, emotional, and or decision making support to their family member, partner, or friend. Additionally, Essential Care Partners are recognized as part of the care team and can play an active role in supporting care decisions and transitions.

There are 4 million care partners in Ontario - people caring for caring for family members, partners, friends, and neighbours.

The Algoma Ontario Health Team (AOHT) is committed to supporting Care Partners by sharing information and connecting them to trusted supports available in our communities.
