Who We Are

The Algoma Ontario Health Team (AOHT) is a collaborative network of healthcare providers, community organizations, and social services working together to transform the way care is delivered in our region. We are not just a healthcare organization—we are a partnership committed to creating a more seamless, accessible, and digitally enabled healthcare experience for everyone in Algoma.

Our Vision

To build a connected network of care that puts the unique needs of Algoma residents at the center, ensuring every individual has equitable access to the right care, at the right time, in the right place. Together, we are shaping a system that is innovative, inclusive, and responsive to the diverse communities we serve.

Algoma’s vast geography and sparse population can create challenges for access to and delivery of health and social services.

The total region covered by the AOHT is roughly 32,000 square kilometers, including 103,090 community members. Over 30% of these individuals reside in areas outside of Sault Ste. Marie.
